Thank you for your interest in our collaborative session feature with Pixyz Review.

Our technology is based on Photon server, the official Unity partner for its network gaming services.

If you land on this tutorial, it means you can't connect to the servers we provide for network security reasons. In order to meet these requirements, you will have to install a Photon Server in your network (On-premise). Two possibilities of installation :

It is likely that you will have to ask your administrator to open some network ports because Photon is originally categorized as a video game technology. The list of ports to open is here

Installing a local Photon Server

Here is how to install a test collaboration server on your computer (locally):

  1. Download the .exe at this address (Create an account if you donโ€™t have one)

    Untitled

    Untitled

  2. Open the downloaded archive "photon-server-sdk_v****.zip" and extract the content to any location. preferably an empty folder you prepared beforehand. The extraction creates several folders:

    Untitled

  3. The "๐Ÿ“ Deploy" folder contains the binaries. Find the file PhotonControl.exe in the two folder ๐Ÿ“bin_Win64

The folders ๐Ÿ“doc, ๐Ÿ“lib and ๐Ÿ“src-server (applications) are for development, so don't take them into account. 4. Create a shortcut on the desktop of PhotonControl.exe, it will be useful later. 5. Launch โ€œPhotonControl.exe" from your desktop with administrator rights 6. In your taskbar, at the bottom right of your screen, a new white icon with a grey circle normally appears

  1. Right-click on it and click on Get Free license
  2. Download the free license and place it in the ๐Ÿ“bin_Win64 (where you extracted the .zip)
